 Dartford and Gravesham Business Awards 2008

Dartford Borough Council sponsored another successful awards evening on Friday 13 June.  The entrants were shortlisted to sixteen finalists who were visited by the judging panel throughout April. 

Prizes to the value of £5,000 were awarded to the successful businesses in a spectacular gala evening which took place at the Woodville Halls in Gravesend.   Cllr Jeremy Kite attended and together with the Leader of Gravesham Borough Council presented the awards. 

This year’s overall winner for the Dartford and Gravesham Business Award 2008 was telecommunications company, ComputerTel Ltd who are based in Gravesend.  The Dartford Business of the Year Award went to pre-school Dimples Day Nursery who is based in Green Street Green Road, Darenth and the Gravesham Business of the Year Award was presented to Net-Tex Industries Ltd. 

A special prize for Renewal and Regeneration was presented to J & B Martin’s (Crayford & Fawkham Ltd) who have converted outbuildings into ergonomic, high quality offices.   Their £500 prize money was donated to Arrow Riding School, which was the nominated charity for the evening. 

Highly commended awards were presented to:  Marks Demolition Contractors Ltd, Calibre Forwarding Ltd, G5 Services Ltd and Regent Development.

The remaining finalists were:  Carbon Energy Solutions, Excel Currencies Ltd, Jackpot Training Ltd, Kent First Aid Training Ltd, New Horizon Systems Ltd, Rock and Ruby Ltd, Simply Care Training and Write-Trak. 

The evening raised £1,250 for the Arrow Riding School Charity; Leader of Dartford Borough Council Cllr Jeremy Kite donated a further £7,000.
