Age Concern
Provides small service development grants of up to £2,000 for new/expanded local projects that provide services for the direct benefit of older people; small grants of up to £120 to clubs for equipment or activities; grants of up to £20,000 per annum for three years for new projects involving volunteers (deadline end of July).

Awards for All
Grants up to £10,000 from the Awards for All programme are open to not-for-profit organisations, including parish and town councils, schools and health bodies.
They can be used to support small-scale projects that promote arts and education, encourage healthier living, develop local sports, support heritage initiatives and boost community

The Big Lottery Fund

Comic Relief
Grants up to £5000 are available in their Small Grants programme for which there is no deadline. Decisions are made within 3 months.

Tesco Charity Trust (Community Award Scheme)
Community Awards focus on charities that deliver practical benefits to children's welfare, children's education, the welfare of elderly people and people with disabilities. Grants generally range from £1,500-£5,000. Applications are considered in two rounds: Children's welfare and children's educational projects, including special needs schools - the deadline is 31 January; Elderly people and people with disabilities - the deadline is 30 June

Yapp Charitable Trust
Gives grants for running costs and salaries. Most grants are for one year but will consider applications for revenue grants for up to three years. Single year grants are usually for less than £3,000. Ongoing grants are rarely for more than £3,000 a year.
