Application for permission to erect, place or carry out any work on a memorial must be made on the Council’s Memorial Application Form which is available from the Watling Street Cemetery Office.

This form must be completed by the current owner of the Exclusive Right of Burial and submitted with the correct permit fee.

Applications will not be considered for a full 12 months after the date of the last burial (interment) in order to allow the ground to settle.

Regular memorial safety audits are carried out on all memorials throughout the Council’s cemeteries which may require remedial action to be taken.
