The Deep Clean initiative
The fantastic Deep Clean team blitzes a different area in the borough each month in cleaning spree to improve your surroundings. They leave no stone unturned in their quest to clean up your area but your help can really make a big difference.
We are asking if you can lend a hand to help the team in their mission to make your neighbourhood one to be proud of.
All you need to do is turn up, you will be provided with all of the equipment that you will need to help the Deep Clean team clean up your area.

We introduced the Deep Clean initiative in 2003 and since then it has grown from strength to strength. The Deep Clean team tackles everything from graffiti and litter to overgrown pathways.
Council staff, contractors and partners will be working hard during Deep Clean week and in the months ahead. Please give them your support and co-operation.
We are working closely with local people and representatives to ensure we target our resources effectively. Below, we outline some of the ways you can help us make your community better.
What are we doing?
During the Deep Clean, Dartford Borough Council officers and contractors will be in the area to deal with graffiti, vandalism, dumped rubbish and more.
How you can help
To keep your area free from dumped rubbish, residents can take advantage of the Council's bulky waste removal service. There is a small fee for this service. The Council can also advise on other methods of collection, such as charities that would be happy to take away unwanted items of furniture.
Rubbish can also be taken to the KCC Household Waste Recycling Centres at Dartford Heath and Pepperhill. The centres are open Monday to Saturday from 8am to 4.30pm and from 9am to 4pm on Sundays.

The Deep Clean team will leave no stone unturned in their quest to clean up the area and are asking for your help to make the difference.
You can lend a hand at your community clean up on the dates shown below. All you need to do is turn up. You'll be provided with all the equipment you need to help the Deep Clean team clean up your area.
- Monday 5 December 2011: River Darent - Brooklands Lakes to Mill Pond Road
- Tuesday 6 & Wednesday 7 December 2011: Burnham Road area, including Burnham Road, Priory Road and Chatsworth Road
- Thursday 8 & Friday 9 December 2011: Roads around Dartford Town Centre, including Junction Road, Essex Road, Spring Vale and Gordon Road
- Monday 9 & Tuesday 10 January 2012: Fleet Estate, including Fleetdale Parade, Community Centre, Library and Queens Gardens
- Wednesday 11 & Thursday 12 January 2012: Newtown area, bordered by London Road, the A282, Bow Arrow Lane and Cotton Lane
- Friday 13 January 2012: Longfield - Station Road, Essex Road, Kent Road and surrounding area
- Monday 13 & Tuesday 14 February 2012: Greenhithe Ward
- Wednesday 15 to Friday 17 February 2012: Swanscombe Ward
- Monday 19 & Tuesday 20 March 2012: Lanes End, including Darenth Hill, Green Street Green Road, Gore Road and surroundings
- Wednesday 21 March 2012: Joydens Wood estate
- Thursday 22 & Friday 23 March 2012: Sutton-at-Hone & Hawley, including the area around footpath DR96, The Orchard, Jubilee Field, Rectory Field and surroundings
