Sustainable Home Energy Strategy and Action Plan 2005 – 2008
An Action Plan to take forward the Sustainable Home Energy Strategy 2005 – 2008 has been developed following a workshop held in September 2005.
The Action Plan contains a variety of activities covering:
- Raising awareness
- Schools and education
- Gathering information
- Influencing policy
- Providing information
- Improving housing stock
- Engage with partners
- Plan and monitor activities
- Identify new resources
- Future development e.g. , renewable energy
The report, strategy and action plan have been discussed initially at Scrutiny Committee and Cabinet. Consultation took place between 30 March and 1 May 2006. Comments received through the consultation were also considered and a revised Action Plan prepared.
The Sustainable Home Energy Strategy and Action Plan 2005 – 2008 was adopted and endorsed at the General Assembly of the Council on 5 June 2006.
The Action Plan will be monitored and reviewed annually and will include activities that the Council can provide from within existing resources and budgets.
