Planned Works
Housing Improvements 2011/2012
An important programme of home improvements is now well underway in areas across the Borough. We aim to continue to meet the government's Decent Homes Standard’ and the programme is focused on kitchens, bathrooms, rewires and boiler replacements.
Kitchens
Over 275 kitchens are planned to be replaced this year. Work involves completely removing all existing fixtures and fittings and replacing them with a new fitted kitchen, flooring and redecorating the kitchen throughout.
Bathrooms
Over 275 bathrooms are planned to be replaced this year. Work involves removing all existing fixtures and fittings and replacing them with a complete new bathroom.
Disabled Adaptations
Approximately 45 properties will benefit from major adaptations (full wet rooms) ranging from over bath showers to full extensions.
Boiler Replacements
Approximately 200 boiler replacements are planned for this year.
Electrical Testing
We are rewiring around 550 properties to bring the electrics up to the current standards.
Roofing
We will be renewing all major flat roofs to our communal areas
Other smaller work programmes
Include internal redecoration, structural repairs, rewires and door entry systems.
