Supported Housing Schemes Awarded Top Grade

Tenants living in Supported Housing Schemes run by Dartford Council can be sure they’re getting top level services after a recent review awarded the council an ‘A’ Grade. The category puts Dartford in the top 10% of more than 500 providers in Kent.

The assessment, conducted by Kent County Council supporting people, found that Dartford shows excellence and leadership in the field, has a system for continuous improvement and is superb value for money.

Councillor Pat Coleman, portfolio holder for housing services, says it is great recognition for the council’s schemes.

“Our supported housing team works very hard to ensure it provides a high standard of service to tenants.  We are constantly looking for ways to improve the services we provide and continue to perform at a high level and I am pleased we have been recognised for this.”

The review uses an in depth Quality Assessment Framework (QAF) to see how a service is performing and award a grade by asking for views from residents and staff as well as looking at policies and procedures in place and levels of service given to tenants on a daily basis.

The council is now better placed to negotiate with KCC over contracts and tenders for new services and continues to play an active role in the Professional Forums which discuss and plan the future of Supporting People.
