Call for borough’s sports stars

Former Sports Awards winner Megan Edwards is encouraging people to nominate the borough’s sports stars as the closing date for entries looms. Megan, now 17, won last year’s Female under 16 sports performer after a fantastic display of performances on the athletics track in triple jump, heptathlon and 300m hurdles. She believes just being nominated is a real boost of confidence. (more…)

Dartford hosts international judo glitterati

Dartford’s world class Judo Centre hosts some of the world’s top judo stars, including four Olympic and World Champions, this week as the national Judo teams from the United States, Canada and Wales come to the south east. (more…)

Final stages set for Skatepark

Illegal ‘safety-risk’ adverts obliterated

Two illegal advert hoardings that have posed a distraction to thousands of drivers on the M25 have been painted out by Council enforcement officials this week. The action follows complaints from local residents and drivers about the eyesores alongside the busy motorway. (more…)

Seven heaven for Darts as historic home run continues

The Leader of Dartford Borough Council has urged even more local families to spend Saturday afternoon supporting The Darts after fans at Princes Park were treated to a nine-goal cracker last weekend. More than 1,100 fans – the seventh consecutive home crowd to top a thousand – saw The Darts rattle SEVEN goals past a stunned Burgess Hill Town to provide the highest goal count in league football last Saturday. Tour de France route announced

Excitement surrounding the visit of the Tour de France to Kent this summer has been increased by the official announcement of the route the race will follow.

The eyes of the world will be on London and Kent in July when they host the Grand Depart of the Tour de France, the world’s largest annual sporting event. (more…)
