Still time to book for popular energy seminar

More than 60 residents have already booked their seat to get advice and tips on the best solutions for saving energy in the household. Dartford Borough Council is holding two seminars on Saturday 8 March for residents to find out more about sustainable energy resources and have extended the closing date for reservations to allow more residents the opportunity to attend.

The seminars, organised by the council with the National Energy Foundation, take place at Princes Park Community Stadium and will explore a range of renewable energy options in detail including solar water, wind turbines and ground source heat pumps.

Advice will include information about costs, installation and any necessary planning consent and will also look at the most efficient solutions to suit different properties and budgets.

Cllr Pat Coleman, portfolio holder for the environment, says the seminars will be valuable for any residents considering environmentally friendly options.

“Many people are becoming aware of the need to become more energy efficient but it’s not always easy to find the most appropriate solution. The seminars will not only look into the options available but also provide advice on how best they suit individuals so it can help residents to take the next step in becoming more environmentally friendly.”

The seminars take place on Saturday 8 March and the closing date for reservations has now been extended to noon on Monday 3 March.

The morning session runs at 9.30am to 12.45pm and is repeated at 1.30pm to 4.45pm. For more information or to book a place, email sandra.woodfall@dartford.co.uk or call 01322 343056.
