Council Tax offer for energy efficient residents
Dartford homeowners can save up to £65 on their council tax as well as saving on energy bills JUST by installing insulation in their homes.
The council has teamed up with British Gas to offer residents a council tax credit when installing cavity wall or loft insulation through British Gas. The first thirty residents will be entitled to a credit worth £65 towards council tax which will reduce to £60 thereafter.
Jeremy Kite, Leader of Dartford Borough Council, urges residents to take up the offer.
“Keeping your home warm for less is a priority for most people and loft and wall insulation saves both energy and money. The offer is a great opportunity for residents to save money with the council tax incentive and on annual heating bills as well as protecting the environment.”
To qualify for the council tax credit, owner-occupier households must have subsidised cavity wall or loft insulation installed by British Gas. The credit is paid directly into the council tax account on completion of the work.
