Rolling Stones names bring satisfaction to The Bridge

Dartford residents could soon be living in Satisfaction Street or Lady Jane Walk thanks to a decision to approve the names of eleven Dartford roads after the hit songs of the Rolling Stones.

The names were shortlisted as to mark the town’s links with Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.  The names were approved, subject to further consultation by Dartford Borough Council’s Cabinet on Thursday 11 December and the proposed names are expected to feature on streets in the third phase of the £350million development.

Jeremy Kite, Leader of Dartford Borough Council came up with the idea alongside development designer Wayne Hemingway and says it’s a great way to celebrate Dartford’s most famous exports.

“I came up with the idea because it’s great to give new housing areas a sense of history and residents are telling us they love the idea. The Rolling Stones have made a big mark on the world and it’s great for us to recognise their roots.”

The proposed street names are Stones Avenue, Ruby Tuesday Drive after the song Ruby Tuesday, Little Red Walk from Little Red Rooster, Angie Mews, Babylon Close taken from the album Bridges of Babylon, Dandelion Row, Lady Jane Walk, Cloud Close, Rainbow Close taken from the song She’s a Rainbow, Satisfaction Street and Sympathy Street from Sympathy For The Devil.

The £350million Bridge development, situated next to the QEII Bridge will provide 1,500 new homes and 1.5 million square feet of business space.
