Council announces new garden waste collection service

Dartford Borough Council is set to launch a new, dedicated *garden waste collection service, the first of its kind in the borough. The service is scheduled to go live during Easter 2010. Collections will be carried out fortnightly and there will be a fee of £30 per year, per household for the service and £33 for a garden waste brown wheeled bin.

Anti-social drivers targeted in town centre crackdown

One uninsured driver had his car seized and a waste carrier was taken off the road and its driver fined £300 during a road check held by Kent Police in Dartford town centre.

Dartford performing well in national league table

Dartford Borough Council has been identified as making good progress in the areas of attracting businesses into the area, working with other organisations such as the Police to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour, which is generally falling and for delivering benefits to people who need them quickly and efficiently.

RAF memorial dedication service and commemoration plaque unveiling

On Tuesday 10th November, Dartford Borough Council unveiled a granite plaque dedicated to the air crew and civilians who lost their lives when a Hampden Bomber crashed into housing in Dartford’s East Hill area. The memorial plaque is secured to the retaining wall in East Hill opposite the houses that were destroyed in the crash.

‘Tradition with a twist’ for new-look Royal Victoria & Bull Hotel

The Worshipful Mayor of Dartford, Councillor Mrs Jennifer Rickwood, today declared The Royal Victoria & Bull Hotel officially open after a major redevelopment that has created a welcoming and informal drinking and dining pub for the town’s residents, workers and shoppers. (more…)
