Chance To Become a Greeter and Share Passion For Kent

Kent people with a passion for their county, and who can spare some time to share their enthusiasm with visitors to their area, are invited to become part of a new Kent Greeters network.

A countywide Greeters network is being established by Visit Kent following two successful pilot projects in East Kent enabling visitors to book a meeting with a local volunteer who shares their interests. (more…)

Deadline Looms for Residents to Register

Residents who aren’t registered to vote for the County and European elections in June are being urged to sign up or lose their vote.

The deadline for new registrations, new postal vote applications and changes to existing postal and proxy vote details is tomorrow, Tuesday 19 May. The deadline for new proxy vote applications is 27 May. (more…)

Step up for North Kent Walking Festival

The North Kent Walking Festival kicks off this weekend, Sunday, 17 May, offering the chance to explore and learn about your local area. The festival runs until the end of June and includes more than 100 guided walks in coastal locations, countryside and historic towns, with at least one walk taking place every day. The walks take place at various times of the day and many are themed, covering interests such as local history, wildlife, archaeology, or arts based activities. (more…)

Councillor Mrs Jennifer Rickwood elected Mayor of Dartford for 2009-2010

The Worshipful Mayor of Dartford, Councillor Mrs Jennifer Rickwood, has lived in Joydens Wood for thirty seven years. Councillor Mrs Rickwood has represented the Joydens Wood ward on the Borough Council for six years and has been a Wilmington Parish Councillor for ten years and is currently Chairman. (more…)
