Dartford Borough Council has long standing emergency plans to work with partners in situations such as yesterday’s power outage. The Council has been operating the emergency plan since the incident began at 12.40 on Monday, 20 July. Each agency has different responsibilities during an emergency and Dartford Borough Council’s responsibility is to ensure that vulnerable and elderly residents in our sheltered accommodation are cared for with food, light and hot water.

The Council’s services are fully operational. Our own generator became operational 6 seconds into the power outage incident at approximately 12.40 yesterday (20th July 2009).

This fabulous new facility for Dartford’s residents and visitors was funded with a contribution of £120,000 from the Big Lottery and £50,000 from Dartford Borough Council. (more…)

When the luxury housing development situated at Ingress Park was conceived and built, in order to protect the ambiance of this award winning scheme, a condition was attached to the planning permission concerning the placement of satellite dishes on properties. This meant that no satellite dish could be fixed to a dwelling at Ingress Park without prior permission from Dartford Borough Council.

Dartford Borough Council has successfully brought a prosecution against the Villa Pizza restaurant at Bluewater, following a serious outbreak of salmonella poisoning, which affected diners at the restaurant in November and early December 2006.
