Play4Life – FREE Fun and Games for 5 to 11 year olds in Dartford

Playing together as a family is a great way to be active, and this summer Dartford Borough Council is offering free activities for 5 to 11 year olds.

Project Coordinator Anna Card said: “Join us this August at one of the Play4Life events happening across the borough for some fun and games. There will be treasure hunts, drama and dance, multi-sports, fun with food, plus arts and crafts. Bring along a packed lunch and enjoy a picnic too.

“Places are limited so call me to book yours on 01322 343067.

“Being active is also great for our health. Children need about 60 minutes of moderate exercise every day. That means exercise that gets them warm, breathing heavier and with a raised heart-rate.”

Programme

  • 3rd August: Central Park and Dartford Library, Dartford
  • 5th August: Waller Park and Pavilion, Darenth
  • 24th August: Swanscombe Park, Swanscombe
  • 25th August: Dartford Healthy Living Centre and Temple Hill School, St Edmunds Road, Temple Hill

Notes for editors

  • Activities run from 10.30am to 1.30pm approx.
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult
  • Bring a packed lunch and refreshments for the day; plus sun cream and a hat if it is sunny.

Play4Life is part of the Change4Life initiative, and is organised by Dartford Borough Council in partnership with Naturally Active (a North West Kent Countryside Partnership project), Don’t Sit Get Fit (Dartford Healthy Living Centre project), Kent Libraries, Swanscombe and Greenhithe Town Council, Darenth Parish Council, and Temple Hill School.

Thursday 5th August is National Play Day.
