‘Golden Bolt’ for the Bluewater Events Venue
Bluewater, Europe’s leading retail and leisure destination, situated near Dartford, marked a major phase in the construction of the £60 million, 5,200m2, Bluewater Events Venue, with a *’Golden Bolt’ ceremony on the recently (2nd August 2010).
Once complete, the venue will be one of the UK’s focal point for retail and leisure led events, shows and exhibitions which will complement Bluewater’s retail offer whilst meeting the continued demand for specialist consumer events in a modern environment.
Andrew Parkinson, General Manager of Bluewater, was joined by the Mayor of Dartford, Councillor Patrick Coleman and the newly appointed Venue Director for the Events Venue, Rebecca Cardozo to celebrate this key stage of construction.
* The ‘Golden Bolt’ was specially created and placed in one of the first section’s of the Events Venue steel structure, where it will be permanently cited to mark the occasion.

The 5,200m2 Events Venue at Bluewater is an exciting and innovative purpose-built development. The Bluewater Events Venue is complemented by a 3,000m2 central plaza, 12 restaurants totalling 4,000m2, including five new units, and the existing 12-screen cinema.
