Bandstand Time Capsule Ceremony
The brand new Henry Wellcome Bandstand situated in Central Park, Dartford has seen the time capsule ceremony take place Tuesday 24 August. Dartford Borough Council and GlaxoSmithKline have worked together to deliver the time capsule which is located under the bandstand. The ceremony marks the strong historic connection that the Council shares with Glaxo Wellcome in Dartford and as the GSK site closes, this will form a legacy for future generations to discover, as well as celebrating the arrival of the exciting new structure.

- GSK pewter tankard dated 1889-2012

The ceremony was presided over by The Leader of the Council, Cllr Jeremy Kite and Cllr Patsy Thurlow, Portfolio Holder for Environment, Leisure and Public Space together with members of staff from Gallagher, the contractor responsible for the Bandstand’s installation within Central Park and the landscaping and staff from GSK.
