Owner Prosecuted For Keeping Dangerous Dogs

Council cracks down on illegal advertising

On Wednesday 24 & Thursday 25 March 2010, Dartford Borough Council Planning Enforcement Officers, with assistance from their Park Ranger, undertook direct action to remove a number of unlawful advertisements in Sutton at Hone and Darenth. (more…)

Dartford man fined for the sound of music

Dartford Borough Council’s Environmental Protection team successfully brought a prosecution at Dartford Magistrates Court on the 12th February 2010, when Mr. James Dean Caird pleaded guilty to five counts of breaching a noise Abatement Notice. This action was taken following several complaints from neighbours about excessive noise over a period of weeks. The Council gathered the evidence with a noise recorder. (more…)

Council sees red!

In recent weeks new shop fronts and bright red shutters appeared at two properties; 123 and 125 Milton Road, Swanscombe. Planning permission for the shop fronts and shutters had not been sought from the owner of the premises to Dartford Borough Council. (more…)

Unlawful Paint Ball Operation closed down

For some time an unlawful paintball operation has been active on Dartford Marshes. The operator of the paintball activity, Mr. Dave Stewart, despite repeated requests and despite legal action by Dartford Borough Council, refused to remove the unsightly unit from an important open area of marshland, which is designated a Site of Nature Conservation. Dartford Borough Council prosecuted Mr. Stewart for failing to comply with a legal notice which required the cessation of the paintball games and the removal of the structures. (more…)

Power Outage update from Dartford Borough Council

Dartford Borough Council has long standing emergency plans to work with partners in situations such as yesterday’s power outage. The Council has been operating the emergency plan since the incident began at 12.40 on Monday, 20 July. Each agency has different responsibilities during an emergency and Dartford Borough Council’s responsibility is to ensure that vulnerable and elderly residents in our sheltered accommodation are cared for with food, light and hot water.

Dartford Borough Council Response to the Power Outage and Update

The Council’s services are fully operational. Our own generator became operational 6 seconds into the power outage incident at approximately 12.40 yesterday (20th July 2009).
