Pay and Display Car Parks and On-Street Pay and Display Bays
All of the Council’s parking areas are actively enforced and so drivers are advised to follow these simple rules in order to avoid receiving a fine:
- Park vehicles wholly within marked bays.
- During the signed times, purchase a ticket from the pay-and-display machine and place it on the dashboard with the relevant price paid and expiry time legible through the windscreen.
- Disabled badge holders are able to park for three hours without charge as long as a valid Blue Badge is displayed correctly with the clock set at the time of arrival.
- Only one ticket per visit may be displayed and no return is permitted until the expiration of the no return period detailed for that parking area.
- Some car parks have areas designated for specific vehicle types and only those vehicle types may park in those areas.
Self-adhesive parking ticket holders are available from the cashiers at the Civic Centre or Swanscombe and Greenhithe Town Council for £1.00 each and these will assist in the correct displaying of a valid pay-and-display ticket.
Car parkcustomers may also pay for their parking using our pay-by-phone service provided by Parkmobile. Further information is available on the pay-and-display machines in each parking area or by going to our paying for parking by mobile page.
