Hesketh Park
Hesketh
Park is about one half the size of Central Park and is very different
in character. The main areas are dominated by sports facilities and the
park is home to the Dartford Cricket and Bowls Clubs. There are also
grass and hard tennis courts which are available for public use. These
facilities are surrounded by a variety of planted areas including formal
bedding, herbaceous and shrub borders.
Hesketh Park has a large car park off Pilgrims Way, and a public convenience off Park Road.
Hesketh Park also has a well equipped children's playground including swings, climbing equipment, a bike track and enclosed ball games / basketball court.
At
the northern end of the park, is an historic sun dial and, behind the
old bungalow, a wooded area known as the Dell. This provides a quiet,
secluded space away from the main park and can be accessed either from
the park or from the Brent.
