Methods of Payment
Online payments - on Council website
You can make payments using our new secure online payment option for the following types of payment:
- Council Tax
- Rent
- Car Park Fines
- Business Rates
- Sundry Debtors (Leaseholders and other payments)
You need to have your Debit/Credit card and payment reference number (i.e. Council Tax account number or parking fine reference) ready. The Council can only accept payment by Switch, Visa Debit, Mastercard, Visa, Electron, or Solo.

If this is the first time you have used our online payment service, please read the security information.
Please note, it takes 2 working days before the payment shows on your account. If you need to make an urgent payment please pay via Customer Services (in person or by telephone).
By Telephone
There are two options for making telephone payments. For both options you need to have your Debit/Credit card and payment reference number (i.e. Council Tax account number or parking fine reference) ready when you call.
Please note that the Council can only accept payment by Switch, Visa Debit, Mastercard, Visa, Electron, or Solo.

Card Hotline on (01322) 343760 between 9.00am and 4.00pm
Monday to Friday to make payments for all billed services.
By Post
Please send your cheque to the Dartford Borough Council, Civic Centre, Home Gardens, Dartford, Kent DA1 1DR.
Cheques should be made payable to Dartford Borough Council and crossed 'A/C Payee'. Please ensure you quote the reference number for the bill you are paying (i.e. your Council Tax account number or parking fine reference) and/or your name and address on the back of the cheque. If you would like a receipt please enclose a stamped addressed envelope.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND CASH
OR POST DATED CHEQUES AS THEY ARE LIABLE TO BE BANKED ON DAY OF
RECEIPT.
Using Online/Telephone Banking
If your bank or building society offer this facility you may make payment by this method. The Council's bank details are:

Please ensure you quote a fund number and your reference with your payment (i.e. 07 and your Council Tax account number or 09 and your parking fine reference) so that it can be applied correctly. If in doubt, please contact the Section who issued you the bill. Fund numbers are:

If you are making regular payments, such as Council Tax or Rent, you may be able to pay by Direct Debit or Standing Order.You can download the appropriate forms:
In Person
You may pay in person at one of the Council's three Cashiers Offices. These are situated at:
Civic Centre,
Home Gardens, Dartford
Open from 8.45am - 5.00pm Monday to Thursday,
and 8.45am - 4.30pm Fridays.
Swanscombe Leisure
Centre, Craylands Lane, Swanscombe
Open from 9.00am to 1.00pm Monday to Friday.
Please note: From Monday 6th February for approximately 4 weeks this office will be unable to collect cash payments. However, payment for all services at this office can still be made by cheque or debit and credit cards.
