Public Access for planning
Public Access reads information from our planning database, which is updated daily. For this reason a search for applications or decisions may return different results on different days. It can take 3-4 days for the drawings and other documents to appear.
Public Access is an online application that allows you to:
- Follow the progress of an application or appeal and allows members of the public to search view and submit comments on current valid applications. If you want to complain about a building already underway that may have breached planning regulations go to our Planning Enforcement pages
- View the scanned images of the documents associated with an application. (This includes the Decision Notice which lists any conditions associated with a decided application.)
- See details of many historic planning applications determined by this Authority and its predecessors. The earliest records available date from the 1870's although these early records may be incomplete or missing. You can also view the scanned documents associated with planning applications from 1996 to the present.
- View the Weekly List of applications received and decided and the Special Interest or Major applications list.
- View property information by reference to a map.
- Investigate planning constraint information currently available on Public Access. This information will be enhanced over time but some information may not currently be displayed.
- Retrieve information by searching on an address, application number or by directly selecting properties from a map.
General
- Do Not use the DA prefix when searching for applications by their application number. E.g. Use 02/99999/FUL and not DA/02/99999/FUL.
- Public Access is not presently available between the hours of 3am and 6am weekdays.
- Public Access is optimized for use with Microsoft Internet Explorer. Netscape, Mozila, Mozila Firefox and Opera browsers will work with Public Access with the exception of map display which is not currently supported. NOTE: Internet Explorer version 7.0 it is not supported yet.
- You will require Adobe acrobat viewer installed in order to view documents associated with applications.
