Proposals for development within the Borough are assessed against policies set out in the Development Plan. The comprises of two documents.

The Borough of Dartford Adopted Local Plan

The Local Plan adopted April 1995 is the statutory planning policy document used for development control purposes in the Borough. The content pages link below will let you quickly find where the various topics are covered within the documents.

You can also view the East and West and Town Centre Dartford maps which show the 1995 Adopted Policies.

Within the maps by placing your mouse over the policy number you will display the policy title and by clicking on the policy number you will be taken to the text explanation of that policy in the 1995 Adopted Local Plan.

Saved Policies

The Secretary of State has agreed a number of Adopted Local Plan policies maybe saved beyond September 2007.

The Local Plan Review (Second Deposit Draft) should be read alongside these statutory documents as the Council has resolved to use it as a "material consideration" when determining planning applications.
