Dartford Town Centre Area Action Plan
The Dartford Town Centre Area Action Plan sets out a vision and strategy for the future development of the town centre and sites north of the railway line. It aims to stimulate regeneration and identify site uses that will achieve positive change in the town.

1. Issues and Options
A public consultation was carried out between 29th September - 13th October 2005 and June 2007 in relation to the Issues and Options stage of the Town Centre and Northern Gateway Area Action Plans. These have now been incorporated into one planning document.
2. Preferred Options
The Area Action Plan is supported by a Sustainability Appraisal prepared for the Council by Enfusion Ltd. The Sustainable Appraisal assesses the plans compatibility with sustainability objectives.
A full technical report is available as well as a non-technical summary which forms part of the Appendices to the Area Action Plan. You may comment on this document.

3. Submission
The Dartford Town Centre Area Action Plan was submitted to the Government on 28 August 2008.
The document was prepared following extensive consultation with local residents, businesses and others with an interest in the town centre. It sets out proposals for the revitalisation of the town centre.
The consultation (ran from 28 August until 9th October) is now closed and any representations will be considered by an Independent Inspector at a Public Examination. This is likely to take place in January/February 2009.
