Sustainability Appraisal/Strategic Environmental Assessment
As part of the preparation of the Local Development Framework (LDF) the Council has commissioned consultants, Enfusion Ltd, to carry out an independent Sustainability Appraisal (SA) and Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA).
Scoping Report and Appendices
A Scoping Report was published as the first step in this process and local people were given the opportunity to comment on the report during May 2005.
The Scoping Report identifies sustainability problems, issues and objectives.
It also proposes a framework which can be used to assess the LDF as its options, alternatives and policies progress through the plan-making stages.
Core Strategy
Core Strategy and Site Specific Allocations Preferred Policy Approaches July 2006
In July 2006, the Council published two Sustainability Appraisal Reports that had been prepared by our consultants, Enfusion Ltd, alongside the Core Strategy and Site Specific Allocations - Preferred Policy Approaches Documents. A Sustainability Report has been produced for both Core Strategy and Site Specific Allocations Preferred Policy Approaches documents to assess their compatability with sustainability objectives. A full technical report is available as well as a non technical summary for each.
Appendices 4,5 and 6 apply only to the Core Strategy and Appendices 7 and 8 apply only to the Site Specific Allocations.
Core Strategy Preferred Options January 2008
The Core Strategy is supported by a Sustainability Appraisal prepared for the Council by Enfusion Ltd. The Sustainability assesses the plans compatibility with sustainability objectives. A full technical report is available which you may also comment on. The non-technical summary of the full report can be found in one of the appendices of the Core Strategy Document.
