Foreword
The Local Plan Review process is one of the most important tasks undertaken by the Council.The publication of this Second Deposit Draft of the Review represents the culmination of a considerable amount of work by Officers and Members in fine tuning the policy approach that will help shape the future of Dartford over the next 10 years.
The Second Deposit Draft has taken account of the comments received following the publication of the First Deposit Draft, as well as changes in national, regional and strategic planning policy since the First Deposit Draft was published in March 2000.
The Second Deposit Draft Plan is a material consideration for the purposes of the Council's planning responsibilities including development control and will be an important factor for the Council in the determination of planning applications in the future.
This is a very important stage in the preparation of the Review of the Local Plan. Please take this opportunity to read the new plan. A form is enclosed to enable you to make either representations in support of, or objections against, the changes between the First and Second Deposit Drafts.
The Second Deposit Draft should be read in conjunction with the proposed revisions to the set of Proposals Maps which cover the Borough, and the revised Sustainability Appraisal.
