Household waste recycling centres
Household waste recycling centres are facilities which allow you to drop off household waste items for recycling.
Facilities are available for disabled users at the Household Waste Recycling Centres. Site staff can assist with the unloading of vehicles as necessary on request.
Please note, there are vehicle height barriers set at 1.85m (6ft) at all Household Waste Recycling Centres.
Opening hours:
Monday to Saturday 0800 to 1630
Sunday and Bank Holidays 0900 to 1600
Late night opening until 1900 every Wednesday from April to September.
Sites will be closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.

Pepper Hill Household Waste Recycling Centre
Kent County Council have announced that the Pepper Hill Centre will be closing on Monday 18th February for reconstrucion/improvements. These works are anticipated to last for approximately 6 months.
Alternative facilities are available at Rochester Way, Dartford Heath. Cuxton and Pedham Place, Swanley.
Types of household waste accepted
Asbestos cement products, books, cans, car batteries, cardboard, domestic hazardous waste (garden chemicals etc), engine oil, foil, furniture, garden waste, gas bottles, glass, hazardous waste (pesticides etc), household waste (non-recyclable), metal, mobile phones, paint, paper, plastic bottles, print cartridges, soil and rubble, spectacles, textiles, tyres, wood
Permits
- Dartford residents should display a permit when using the sites. Should you require a permit please contact the helpline on 0845 3450210. Permits are limited to one per household only.
- Gravesham residents need to show proof of address in order to use the Rochester Way tip.
