Household refuse collection
All domestic properties in the Borough receive a weekly refuse collection service, provided by EnterpriseMRS. All properties have been supplied with a green wheeled bin, except where the resident (for reasons of access etc) wishes to use black plastic sacks.
- Green bins or black sacks should be left at the front boundary of the property by 7am on the day of collection. For elderly or disabled residents an alternative collection point can be agreed.
The collection service does not cover removal of building materials, bulky items such as furniture, hazardous waste, soil or garden waste. Garden waste should not be put into green wheeled bins anymore. Please see the section on our new Garden Waste Collection Service.

Wheeled bins
If green bins become broken through wear and tear a replacement will be provided free of charge. If your bin goes missing, you may be asked to pay for a replacement. New properties should be provided with a wheeled bin by the developer, alternatively one can be purchased from the Council at a cost of £33 inc VAT (please telephone 01322 343290).
Only one standard size (240 litre) bin will be collected per household, except for families of more than 6, where a larger bin can be requested.
Smaller bins are available on request for single persons or smaller families or properties, where the standard bin size is not appropriate.
