Yellow lines to stop commuters, shoppers and businesses parking
Individuals often request a single yellow line for a one hour restriction in order to stop ‘all day parking’.
Consideration must be given to residents in neighbouring streets that experience similar problems so that problems are not compounded for them.
Additionally, the time period selected for the kerb-space restriction must fit with enforcement patrol schedules by Civil Enforcement Officers so that the restriction is actively enforced and therefore effective.
For these reasons and others too, implementing this type of kerb-space solution is not as simple as many believe.
