RIDDOR - Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013:

RIDDOR requires employers, the self-employed and people in control of work premises to report and keep records of certain serious workplace accidents, occupational diseases and specified dangerous occurrences.

The following injuries are reportable under RIDDOR when they result from a work-related accident

  • The death of any person
  • Specified injuries to workers
  • Injuries to workers which result in them being away from work or unable to perform their normal duties for more than 7 consecutive days (not counting the day of the accident)
  • Injuries to non-workers which result in them being taken from the scene of the accident to hospital for treatment

Also reportable are

  • Diagnosed cases of certain industrial diseases
  • Certain 'dangerous occurrences'
  • Certain gas incidents
