IMPORTANT UPDATE - LARGER HOUSEHOLD EXTENSIONS PRIOR NOTIFICATION/NEIGHBOUR NOTIFICATION SCHEME
Legislation is due to be changed on 25th May 2019 in respect of the deadline by which all extensions allowed under the Neighbour Notification Scheme or Prior Notification for larger householder extensions can be built (Part 1 Class A of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 2015). This change will remove the requirement for all such extensions to be completed on or before 30th May 2019. In addition the requirement for the developer to notify the Council of the completion of the development will be removed.
Where the prior notification process has already successfully been completed and works have either not yet started or will not be likely to be completed by 30th May 2019, this change in legislation effectively allows the extension to be built with no time restriction. However, until this legislation has been changed, the Council must still advise you to comply with the current requirements as set out in the decision notice in respect of the deadline for completion and notification to the Council. We will provide an update on or shortly after 25 th May 2019.
