New Build Council Housing
It’s an exciting time with the Council’s programme of new homes being built in the Borough, as part of its commitment to providing much needed affordable rented homes for local people.
On Temple Hill, residents are now settled in to the Council’s first new development at Hill View, and work has already started on a second site at Coleridge Road.
Hill View, the Council’s first development in 25 years, a mix of houses and flats, has boosted the number of homes available to people most in need of affordable housing. It also enables much needed movement on the Council’s overburdened Housing Register.
The development, officially opened by Lord Attlee on 24 July 2017, marks a commitment to the delivery of new Council homes by Dartford Council. Lord Attlee joined the Mayor, councillors, representatives from the Council and local Residents’ Forum for a tour to meet residents who have settled in to their new homes.
Work has begun at Coleridge Road, and is due for completion in the summer of 2019, providing an additional 51 houses and flats.
The former cash office at Temple Hill Square, will see six new one bedroom flats built on the site, which are also due for completion in 2019.
The Council is pleased to announce that Jenner Contractors, who built the units on Temple Hill Square, are also building our second scheme on Coleridge Road and at the former cash office. Jenner were awarded a certificate PDF, 214.08 KB by Considerate Constructors an independent organisation that strives for improved construction, for 'Performance Beyond Compliance' meaning that Jenner have exceeded the scheme's code of considerate practice.
