Energy Deal - the collective switching campaign

During these difficult and challenging times it’s even more important to save money on your energy bill. Dartford Borough Council has offered Energy Deal since collective switching began in the UK in 2013 partnering with IChoosr to help residents to save money on their energy bills by using combined buying power to access highly competitive tariffs.  Participation is completely free with no obligation to switch.

Energy Deal hold 3 auctions a year – Autumn, Winter and Spring (auctions October, February and May). If your current fixed tariff is not due to expire in the next few months register and take part in one of the forthcoming rounds.

The current Collective Switching Campaign:

  • Opened for registration on Tuesday 31 March 2020
  • Auction took place on Tuesday 19 May 2020
  • Personal offers available from Monday 1 June 2020
  • Closure of the campaign Tuesday 30 June 2020

The Offers are 100% renewable electricity in all categories.

Following the Auction on 19 May 2020 registration for the scheme has reopened to Dartford residents. This can be done on line in the normal way or for those with no internet access by contacting the Environmental Promotions Officer on 01322 343056. Instant personal offers will be available until 30 June based on completion of a registration which includes current tariff details and annual consumption figures.

How to take part

Registration requires details of energy consumption (on energy bill/annual energy statement - preferably in kWhs), name of current supplier and current tariff.

You don't have to live in one of our districts to take part.

Due to restrictions on the scheme, the Council is not allowed to send out reminders to residents who have switched through the scheme in the last 2 years. Therefore please keep a note of your current energy tariff expiry date and register for the auction that coincides with that date.

Don’t have access to an email address?

People without an email address can register via a relative or friend’s email address (maximum of five households per email address) or alternatively contact Environmental Promotions Officer on 01322 343056.

Four things you should do

  • Grab your bill and register yourself - it's free, easy and without obligation
  • Tell your neighbours about the scheme
  • Help your relatives if they are not used to registering their details online. (you can register on their behalf)
  • Help people without internet access to register with you online, or leave your contact details on 01322 343056 during registration periods for assistance
