The easiest way to protect your family from fire is to get a smoke alarm fitted on each floor in the house and test it regularly. They cost as little as £5 and could save your life. If there's ever a fire in your home, don't tackle it, get everyone out, stay out and call 999.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service offer free fire safety advice to everyone. Their advisers can speak to you and discuss your needs. If you're eligible, they'll arrange to visit your home, offer you free fire safety advice and fit smoke alarms as required – 0800 923 7000.
