You're part of a community that's actively improving its own health.
In February 2011 Dartford became the one of the first places in the UK to sign up as a Heart Town to support the British Heart Foundation's (BHF) Mending Broken Hearts Appeal which was launched to celebrate the charity's 50th anniversary.
For 50 years the BHF has helped the people of the UK look after their hearts, and fight heart disease. They are now going one step further by striving to find a way to permanently mend damaged hearts.
As a Heart Town the community of Dartford can learn practical steps on how to improve their heart health, support the appeal through fundraising activities, and benefit from the BHF's wide range of resources and educational programmes:
- Heart Matters - a free service for keeping your heart healthy, including a magazine that's packed with great ideas and support
- Keeping Young Hearts Beating - a programme for local schools, youth groups and nurseries - including Arties Olympics, Ultimate Dodgeball and Jump Rope for Heart
- Health at Work - turn your work place into a more active, energised environment with this free package of practical tools and resources to promote better health in your organisation
