Dartford Borough Council takes further steps to clean up the town

In response to concerns raised by local people and a part of our mission to keep Dartford Clean, Dartford Borough Council will be extending Environmental Crime Enforcement in 2020. In addition to the current Litter, Fly Tipping and Dog fouling enforcement, from 25th January 2020 officers will investigate and enforce offences relating to Commercial (trade) waste. Businesses in the Borough who do not have a Commercial (trade) waste removal agreement in place or their own waste carrier license, will face a fixed penalty charge of £300 or a trip to court. Fixed Penalties will also be issued for offences of Fly Posting, Graffiti, selling or repairing vehicles on the highway, inappropriate use of A Boards on the Highway and breaches of the Public Space Protection Order in the Town centre and Central Park.

In support of the Council’s aim to promote an environment which is attractive and make Dartford a place people would like to live and work’, a team of enforcement officers, working with specialist Environmental Crime investigators, will continue to patrol all over the Borough. Businesses can access further information at 'Managing Your Waste'.
