The HWRCs in the borough are owned and run by Kent County Council. You need to book a slot to use them and you may also need a voucher – please check with KCC first www.kent.gov.uk
Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs - commonly called 'the tip') are facilities which allow you to drop off household waste items for recycling.
Please note, there are vehicle height barriers set at 2m (6'6") at all Household Waste Recycling Centres.
Facilities are available for disabled users at the HWRCs. Site staff can assist with the unloading of vehicles as necessary upon request.
- Monday to Saturday: 8am - 4.30pm
- Sunday and Bank Holidays: 9am - 4pm
- Closed: Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day
Dartford residents should display a permit when using the sites or bring along proof of address within the borough. Permits are supplied by Kent County Council. Should you require a permit please contact the KCC helpline on 03000 417373 or apply for a permit online . Permits are limited to one per household only.

Alternative facilities are available at Swanley. Kindly note that all of these sites belong to and are managed by Kent County Council. Any issues should be reported to them directly on 03000 417373.
Static Recycling Sites:
In addition to their door to door recycling collection, Dartford Council operates a network of over 15 static sites, offering recycling facilities for newspapers, magazines, glass bottles and jars, steel and aluminium cans and textiles. Please keep these sites tidy and use the bins provided. Any other waste that does not fall into these categories that is left at these sites may be considered fly tipping.
