A community approach

We’re taking a community approach. Council ownership means this scheme won’t be driven by commercial developers but by by good design and local need.

What are our design priorities?

  1. No high-rises. Instead we'll have lower-rise, street-based design that respects the character of Dartford
  2. Robust, high-quality materials. Traditional construction.
  3. Phased construction to minimise disruption and maximise community benefit
  4. Homes that are built to last and designed with pride
  5. A strong visual identity with people at its heart
