Our translation service covers all communication needs including information in large print, Braille and the main community languages spoken in the Borough:
To make sure that our customers have fair access to high quality services we will seek to provide translation and interpreting support where there is a face-to-face interaction between the Council and a customer.
This translation service is provided on the Council's behalf by a company called Language Line. More information about this company can be found on its web site www.languageline.co.uk.
The standards we have adopted for operating this service are:
- We will not use children as interpreters
- We will only use adult family members and friends where the customer makes this preference, after being offered the option of professional translation and interpreting support.
