Small Business Rate Relief

How do you qualify?

You can apply for Small Business Rate Relief if you use only one property and the rateable value of that property is less than £15,000.

You can also apply if you have more than one occupied business property and the rateable value of each additional property is less than £2,900.  The total rateable value of all properties must be less than £20,000.  You will only receive a percentage reduction on your main property.  Full rates will be payable on the additional properties.

What do you get?

If the rateable value is £12,000 or less you will receive a 100% reduction. The relief will gradually decrease from 100% to 0% for properties with a rateable value between £12,001 and £15,000.

If you do not qualify for relief but your occupied property has a rateable value of less than £51,000 your Business Rates bill will be automatically calculated using the Small Business Rate Relief multiplier.

How do you apply?
