Every five years, we are required to review the polling districts and polling stations within the Borough. This can change how the Borough is divided into smaller voting areas called polling districts, and a polling station is allocated to each of those districts due to the population change within Dartford.
A polling district is a geographical area created by dividing the parliamentary constituency and local government wards into smaller areas.
A polling place is the building or area in which a polling station is located.
A polling station is the room or area within the polling place where voting takes place. The Returning Officer has a statutory responsibility to allocate polling stations within the polling place during an election. Due to availability, some Polling Districts may share a polling station
We are reviewing all polling districts and places for Parliamentary and Local Government elections and want to hear the views and comments of residents and local bodies, especially relating to access requirements to premises or facilities for disabled people.
Any responses must be submitted before the deadline of 4 November 2024.

Some proposed changes include creating three new Polling Districts to reflect the increasing number of residents within the Polling Districts.

The Council will consider the review proposals, and the final proposals will be incorporated in the revised register to be published on 1 February 2025.
