Who has the right to buy?
You may have the right to buy:
If you've had a public sector landlord for 3 years. You will only be able to purchase under the scheme if your house or flat is your only home and is self-contained. Any land let together with your home (for example, gardens) will usually be treated as part of your home.
You cannot buy your home

If the Council obtains a possession order from the Court which requires you to leave your home;

If you are an un-discharged bankrupt;

If there is a bankruptcy petition pending against you;

If you have made an arrangement with creditors and you still owe them money;

If you have a Demoted or Introductory tenancy agreement
