Taking the Knowledge test
Firstly, you MUST pass either the Private Hire or Hackney Carriage Knowledge Test depending on the licence you are applying for. The knowledge test is a multiple-choice test taken on a computer at the Civic Centre, Dartford.

When you feel you are ready to take the knowledge test, you will need to complete the application form at the end of the knowledge test pack and pay the fee. The fee can be paid by calling 01322 343434 selecting option 2 twice and speaking to an operator. Please use your name as the reference and the income code is H0105 9497 they will be able to take a credit or debit card payment. The receipt and the completed form should then be emailed to vehiclelicensing@dartford.gov.uk and we will let you know available test dates.
Fees: Private Hire Test - £67 / Hackney Carriage Test - £134 (2 parts)
You will need to bring your DVLA licence with you on the day.
