After successfully obtaining funding from the Department for Levelling Up in 2023, a new Changing Places toilet has been installed in Central Park, near Cranford Road.

Changing Places works hard in creating spaces that help disabled users get out and about. With each toilet offering an array of specialist equipment, people can enjoy their day to day activities knowing it’s available.

The new toilet includes:

  • Height adjustable changing bench
  • Full length mirror
  • Ceiling track hoist system
  • Paper towel dispenser
  • Height adjustable basin with mixer
  • Hand dryer
  • Peninsular toilet
  • General waste bin and sanitary bin
  • Dropdown rails/vertical grab rails
  • Coat hooks
  • Wide paper roll dispenser
  • Colostomy bag shelf
  • Retractable privacy screen
  • Shower

Leader of the Council Jeremy Kite MBE “I’m flushed with pride that a day out in Central Park can now be easy and convenient for all residents. As a council we are committed to making the Borough accessible to all and this is another step towards that.”

The other Changing Places toilet is still available for all to use, within the Dartford Library. For more information on opening times and locations check out their website: https://www.changing-places.org/find.
