Dartford welcomed the launch of its very first Night Food Market on Friday, September 5, transforming the town centre into a vibrant celebration of flavour, live entertainment, and community spirit.

Visitors were able to taste their way around the world, with delicious dishes from local suppliers plus the taste of Spain, Italy, Greece, Nepal, Romania, the Caribbean, Africa and India, alongside tempting sweet treats such as doughnuts, chimney cakes and other desserts. The evening also featured refreshing drinks, boutique stalls selling fashion, jewellery, toys and more, plus a central seating area where families and friends can relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

Organised by Dartford Borough Council in partnership with Cohesion Plus, the event offered fun for all the family, with a packed programme of live singers, dancers, drummers, magicians, face painters, street performers, and children’s rides.

We hope it could pave the way for regular night markets, which would strengthen Dartford’s evening economy, and help shape the town’s ongoing regeneration.

Speaking before the event, Leader of the Council Jeremy Kite said: “We are delighted to launch Dartford’s first Night Food Market, which will not only showcase our incredible community, but also bring people together at a family-friendly evening market. It’s a fantastic opportunity to support local businesses whilst creating a new highlight for the town centre.”
