Procedure

Once the case officer has requested or agreed to the amendment of an application, the applicant/agent must email the amendment(s) to a dedicated planning amendment email address, which will provided by the case officer.  The covering email must include the application reference, the date on which the case officer agreed that amendments could be made, the extension of time agreement and confirmation of when the amendment fee will be paid/has been paid.  The case officer must be copied in.

The in-application amendment fee can be paid by calling customer services. Confirmation of payment will be necessary before the amendments are added to the planning application file.

All amended plans should have an updated drawing number to reference the change i.e. ‘revision B’.

One set of amendments as opposed to a series of amendments is encouraged (noting the limit on the number of amendments accepted).  The officer will generally therefore need to wait for the consultation period to expire prior to inviting amendments.  This is so that all matters that require addressing are captured at the same time.

The acceptance of an amendment and payment of the ‘amendment fee’ will not guarantee a positive determination and is ‘without prejudice’ to the Council’s normal decision-making process.
