Planning for the town centre's future
We want to know your views to prepare a town centre ‘vision and masterplan’ for future developments.
Your views will help us deliver Dartford's Local Plan, which sets out our ambitions for changing the town centre.
The Local Plan's aims include:
- To grow a resident community with a choice of housing for young and old, boosting the town centre economy, spending and local vitality, supporting a 24 hour sense of security.
- To secure land and funding for new community facilities, especially to serve new residential neighbourhoods.
- To continue and expand further public realm improvements and improved cycling and walking routes, including green and blue infrastructure.
- To plan modern public transport facilities, and better interchanges, and to update access and vehicle parking strategy.
- To grow the cultural/ leisure offer further, with the Orchard Theatre in particular acting as a catalyst to help further promote the town’s arts and creative activities.
Have your say
We’re working to make the town centre safer, more vibrant and more pleasant for everyone in our community. We want to share the improvements we've made so far, and hear from you about to keep those improvements moving.
We’d like to hear from local residents, business owners, workers and visitors to Dartford town centre about what they would like to see in the future. This will help inform a new vision and masterplan to guide us through the next 10 to 15 years.
Two drop-in sessions will be held next to Duet Coffee in The Orchards Shopping Centre, more details to follow.
Our online consultation will be going live very soon.
