It may sound obvious but we think that those who know most about how to improve a service are those that actually use it. That is why we put consultation so high in our mission to improve services.
If we have an accurate picture of the needs and wants of people in the Borough we can tailor our services to meet the needs of the community.
The Council also has to consult with local people on a number of specific things such as planning applications, plus certain plans and strategies.
Consultation and Engagement Strategy
The Council has a strategy which sets out the principles and standards which it will adhere to in terms of involving local people in the design and delivery of services.
Council Tax Reduction Scheme 2019/20
Each year the Council has to decide whether to change its Council Tax Reduction Scheme for working age applicants in its area. This year the Council is recommending a significant change to the Council Tax Reduction Scheme due to the introduction of Universal Credit Full Service within the Kent area and to simplify the scheme for claimants. We are keen to hear your views on the proposals so please do complete the consultation survey by visiting the Council Tax Reduction Scheme 2019/20 survey page. The consultation runs from 6 August to 30 September 2018.
