Volunteer groups

Darenth Country Park and Dartford Heath

If you would like to help look after some of the public open space within the Borough, the Countryside team runs two volunteer days each week.

On Monday they work in Darenth Country Park carrying out maintenance tasks such as mowing, strimming, fencing, hedge laying and any other jobs that need doing.

They meet at their workshop in Bailiffs Cottage, adjacent to the Arrow Riding Centre at 9am.

Working Party

On Tuesday they work on Dartford Heath, clearing footpaths and rides, maintaining open heathland areas, and clearing scrub and burnt areas in the winter. Other jobs include step repair, installing bollards and benches and clearing fallen or hazardous trees.

They meet at Heath Lane car park at 10am.

Volunteering is an enjoyable way to help look after our open spaces. You will meet like-minded people, and get some healthy, open air exercise.

If you would like to join one of our volunteer groups, it is important that you phone us first. Please leave your details on 01322 285497 and a team member will contact you.
