Dartford Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reporting
The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) required Local Authorities to measure and report their greenhouse gas emissions from their own estate and operations in accordance with the joint DECC- Defra guidance “How To measure and Report Your Greenhouse Gas Emissions” which was published in September 2009.
DECC replaced National Indicator (NI) 185 with a requirement for Local Authorities to report Greenhouse Gas Emissions. There was a requirement to report these in Carbon Dioxide Equivalent (CO2e)
The Council built on the foundations of the work from the Local Authority Carbon Management Programme to report on National Indicator 185 and continued this process for the reporting of Greenhouse Gas Emissions.
